The Hadith stating the whole of a woman is `Awrah
Q 4: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A woman is `Awrah (i.e. her entire body must be covered in public). (Related by Al-Tirmidhy) Is this an authentically reported Hadith?
A: This Hadith was related by Al-Tirmidhy on the authority of Ibn Mas`ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: A woman is Awrah, and if she goes out she will be received by Satan. This Hadith was reported also by Al-Suyuty in his book Al-Jami` Al-Saghir. He indicated that it is an authentic Hadith. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
